Points of Diversity, in partnership with Standing for Equity in the Roanoke Valley (SERV), invites you to participate in A Call to Engage Across Differences, a two-part interactive workshop designed to bridge divides in our community.
Participants will explore how core values shape personal beliefs and gain practical skills for active listening, asking thoughtful questions, and navigating complex political, cultural, and ideological differences with curiosity, empathy, and respect.
Dates: October 13 and October 20
Time: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM each evening
Location: Unitarian Universalist Church (2015 Grandin Road SW, Roanoke)

Celebrating New Beginnings and Community
Roanoke Valley Points of Diversity is happy to welcome our new immigrants and congratulate the newest graduates of Blue Ridge Literacy’s English Language Learners program!
On August 18, 2026, we witnessed the courage, determination, and willingness of our immigrant neighbors to learn, grow, and become an active part of our communities.
We proudly salute Ahoo Salem, Sarah Geres, and the entire Blue Ridge Literacy team for their dedication, passion, and commitment to supporting our immigrant communities.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to Delegate Sam Rasoul for being present and supporting this important effort.
Together, we celebrate education, inclusion, diversity, and the many contributions that immigrants bring to the Roanoke Valley. Welcome, congratulations, and keep moving forward!
